About COSMO
Introduction
The Container Deposit System Management Organization is a professional deposit system management agency. It was established on June 10, 2021 to contribute to environmental conservation and the sound development of the national economy by collecting, reusing, and recycling the containers that qualify for receiving a deposit, including glass bottles and disposable cups.
Our center is responsible for the return of container deposits, payment and management of environmental subsidies, and execution of unreturned deposits. We also conduct research studies on the container deposit system, support the improvement of its procedure, and educate the public on the system.
The transition to a carbon-neutral society is not a matter of choice but a path we must urgently take. Disposable resources used only once before being thrown away pollute the soil and ocean and emit vast amounts of greenhouse gases during the production and disposal process. In particular, the key to carbon neutrality is the transition to a plastic-free society where plastic production and consumption are reduced and used plastics are recycled as raw materials.
The container deposit system is essential for switching from the current linear economy of usage and disposal, to a circular economy that expands on reusing and recycling. A significant economic/social structural change is essential in order to achieve carbon neutrality in response to the climate crisis. Our center will do its best to transform our society into a circular economy by successfully operating the container deposit system.
We hope you will take an interest and actively participate, and ask you to follow our journey with The Container Deposit System Management Organization.
Thank you.
